Day 1, May 24th, 2020 (Sunday): Departure

  • Depart for your overnight flight to Germany. Meals will be served on board.

 

Day 2, May 25th, 2020 (Monday): Munich arrival - Oberammergau

  • Arrive at Munich airport and claim the luggage. Meet our tour escort, who will accompany us daily.
  • Drive to Obermammergau.
  • Check into our hotel. (under group’s own arrangements)
  • Dinner and overnight at a hotel in Oberammergau or its vicinity (Passion Play 2020 package incl. Passion Play tickets, accommodation and dinner is not included in the package rate and is under group’s own arrangements). (D)

Day 3, May 26tt, 2020 (Tuesday): Oberammergau: Passion Play

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • We celebrate Mass at a local church.
  • After Mass, spend some time to visit & stroll through this very quaint cozy village.
  • Lunch on your own.
  • 14:30 – 1st part of the Passion Play.
  • 17:00 – intermission & 3-course dinner during the break.
  • 20:00 – 22:30 – 2nd part of the Passion Play.
  • Overnight at a hotel in Oberammergau or its vicinity à Passion Play 2020 package incl. Passion Play tickets, accommodation and dinner is not included in the package rate and is under group’s own arrangements. (-)

Attention:
· It is advised to include lunch on this day as it will not be easy in town to get any lunch and will not be enough time to have lunch at any nearby towns.

Day 4, May 27th, 2020 (Wednesday): Oberammergau – Munich

  • Breakfast at the hotel and check-out.
  • Drive to Munich.
  • On our way, we stop for Mass celebration at Wieskirche church (the Church in the Meadow) subject to confirmation), Germany’s greatest Rococo-style church. This house of worship looks like it floated down from heaven.
  • Lunch on your own.
  • Continuing our way to Munich
  • We make another stop to visit Neuschwanstein castle (entrance fee included) Neuschwanstein castle it is a royal palace in the Bavarian Alps of Germany, the most famous of three royal palaces built for Louis II of Bavaria, sometimes referred to as Mad King Ludwig. The castle is the embodiment of 19th century romanticism. In a fantastical imitation of a medieval castle, Neuschwanstein is set with towers and spires and is spectacularly sited on a high point over the Pollat River gorge.
  • Check into the hotel.
  • Dinner at the hotel.
  • Overnight at the hotel in Munich (D)

 

Day 5, May 28th, 2020 (Thursday): Munich 

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • After breakfast we will celebrate Mass at local church.
  • Half day guided tour of Munich. Begin with a visit to the Marienplatz with the world famous “Glockenspiel, and the twin-towered Frauenkirche, the most familiar landmark of old Munich. Continue on to see the Asamkirche, dedicated to the martyr St. John Nepomuk. You will see the town hall, and the magnificent boulevard Feldherrenhalle Ludwigsstrasse Siegestor, created by King Ludwig I in the middle of the 19th century. See the Residenz, the palace of the Kings of Bavaria, and the Hofgarten. (all external views)
  • Free time and lunch at your own (Reservation lunch at the Hofbrauhaus)
  • Dinner at the hotel.

Day 6, May 29th, 2020 (Friday): Munich  - Salzburg

  • Breakfast at the hotel and check out.
  • After breakfast departure to Salzburg.
  • On our way we will stop for a guided tour of Altotting, one of Germany's most celebrated shrines and a city whose purpose is pilgrimage. For more than 1250 years Altötting has been the spiritual center of Bavaria and for more than 500 years the most significant place of pilgrimage in Germany in veneration of the Virgin Mary. While there, we have the opportunity to see the Basilica, St. Konrad's Monastery and more.
  • Celebrate Mass at the shrine (subject to confirmation)
  • Lunch on your own.
  • Drive on to Marktl am Inn, the birth place of Pope Benedict XVI. Visit the birth place, and the local church where he was baptized. (entrance fee included)
  • Continue on to Salzburg and check-in to our hotel upon arrival.
  • Dinner at the hotel this.
  • Overnight at the hotel in Salzburg (B, D)


Day 7, May 30th, 2020 (Saturday): Salzburg

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • After breakfast, our half day day tour begins with Mass celebration at local church.
  • Salzburg is compact and best explored on foot. Narrow, winding lanes and secluded passageways are evidence of its medieval roots. The heritage of the Catholic Church is evident in the Archbishop's Residence and the decoration of the State Rooms, available for viewing.

Visit the mighty Romanesque Cathedral, the Nonnberg Convent of Benedictine nuns, and the Fortress Hohensalzburg. (all external views)

Day 8, May 31st, 2020 ( Saunday): Salzburg – Vienna

  • Breakfast at the hotel and check out.
  • Driving to Vienna.
  • On route, we stop in Melk. Visit to the Melk Abbey, the Baroque style structure is surrounded by a gorgeous town with Renaissance homes and winding streets reminiscent of the Middle Ages. The Abbey is the setting for Umberto Eco’s ‘The Name of the Rose’. Among the treasures housed here are paintings, sculptures, and decorative art from the 9th to 15th centuries. A magnificent library contains over 2,000 volumes from that era. A brilliant organ and skeletons dressed in luxurious costumes kept in glass coffins are among the other things to see here.   • Following a guided tour of Melk Abbey there will be an opportunity for a short impromptu performance.
  • Celebrate Mass at the Abbey (subject to confirmation)
  • Lunch on your own.
  • Continue driving to Vienna.
  • Check into the hotel upon arrival.
  • Dinner at the hotel.
  • Overnight at the hotel in Vienna. (B, D)

Day 9, June 1st, 2020 (Monday): Vienna

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • After breakfast we will begin our day with Mass celebration at the local church (subject to confirmation)
  • Afterwards, we continue guided sightseeing with the most historical sights of Vienna. You will see the Hofburg Palace (entrance fee included) (the winter residence of the Habsburg emperors) and continue to the Capuchin Church (which contains the imperial vaults), St. Charles' Church (a splendid example of late Baroque architecture), and the Belvedere Palace (former residence of Prince Eugene of Savoy). We will also drive around the Ring, one of the most magnificent boulevards in the world, and continue to the Vienna Opera, Museums, House of Parliament, City Hall, and the Burgtheater (all exterior views).
  • Free time for lunch at your own leisure.
  • Visit to the Schönbrunn Palace (entrance fee included)
  • Dinner at the hotel.

Day 10, June 2nd, 2020 (Tuesday): Vienna - Budapest

  • Breakfast at the hotel and check-out.
  • Departure for Budapest.
  • On our way to Budapest we will stop at Pannonhalma abbey for sightseeing and mass celebration (subject to confirmation) Pannonhalma, is one of the oldest historical monuments in Hungary. Founded in 996, it is located near the town, on top of a hill (282 m). Saint Martin of Tours is believed to have been born at the foot of this hill. This is the second largest territorial abbey in the world. . Its owes its birth to Géza, the first Magyar prince to be converted to Christianity. The abbey is still home to 70 monks, a secondary school and a theological institute.  (entrance fee included)

  • After lunch we continue our way to Budapest.
  • Check into the hotel.
  • Dinner at the hotel upon wrrival.

Day 11, June 3rd, 2020 (Wednesday): Budapest

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • After breakfast Mass celebration at local church.
  • Afterwards we will start a half day guided tour around Budapest. It is a the capital city of Hungary. For many reasons it is believed to be one of the most beautiful and fascinating cities in Europe. It is beautifully located on both banks of Danube river (Buda and Pest), invites tourists with numerous historic monuments, like the Castle Hill, Parliament Building, St. Stephen’s Basilica or Budapest Cathedral - the largest church in Budapest.   • Lunch on your own and free time.
  • Dinner at the hotel.
  • Farewell dinner at local restaurant (B, D)


Day 12, June 4rd, 2020 (Thursday): Budapest - Departure

  • Breakfast at the hotel and check-out.
  • Drive to Budapest Airport for your return flight (B)
