14 Life-Changing Days - Holy Land and Jordan - March 07-20, 2022
Day One - Departure
Depart USA from San Antonio Texas.
Day Two - Arrival
Arrive at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv. Meet guide, drive to the hotel in Tiberius for dinner and overnight.
Day Three - Nazareth/ Cana of Galilee/Mount Tabor
Start our day with a visit to the Basilica of the Annunciation and drive to Cana of Galilee to visit the church of the first miracle of Christ. After lunch, we drive to Mount Tabor to visit the Church of the Transfiguration. Dinner and overnight in Tiberius.
Day Four - Golan Heights/Sea of Galilee
Drive to Golan Heights to visit Caesarea Philippi. Then drive towards the Sea of Galilee, visit the Mount of Beatitudes, Tabgha Church of the Multiplication, Capernaum, St. Peter’s Primacy where we will then enjoy a boat ride across the Sea of Galilee, we will finish the day with a visit to the Boat Museum (included). Dinner and overnight in Tiberius.
Day Five - Haifa/ Caesarea/Emmaus
Depart the Galilee area via coastal plains, visit the city of Haifa, then we drive to Stella Maris at Mount Carmel to visit the church of Prophet Elijah and, after lunch we continue south to visit Caesarea Maritima, from there return back to Tiberius for some free time. Dinner and overnight in Tiberius.
Day Six- Beit Shean/Jericho/Mt. Scopus
Check out our hotel in Galilee and head south towards Jerusalem. Stop at Cana of Galilee, then we continue to visit Beit Shean (included) where we see the excavations. Drive through the Jordan valley, visit the baptismal site on the Jordan River, visit Jericho (entrance to Tel Jericho included), and drive up to the Holy city of Jerusalem and panoramic view over the Jerusalem from Mount Scopus, before going to our hotel for dinner and overnight at Jerusalem.
Day Seven- Dead Sea Area
Drive from Jerusalem through the Judean desert and then along the Dead Sea shore to Masada, an ancient Roman complex rising high above the Dead Sea. We will visit Qumran and float at the Dead Sea. After lunch return back to Tiberius for some free time.
Day Eight - Shepherd’s Field/Bethlehem
Depart Jerusalem for Bethlehem. first, we stop to visit Shepherd’s Field, then continue to Bethlehem to visit the Church of Nativity and visit the old city of Bethlehem. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.
Day Nine - Old City of Jerusalem/Ein Karem
Visit the Wailing Wall, Temple Mount, Dome of the Rock & Al Aqsa Mosque, then visit the Church of St. Anne & the Pools of Bethesda, Via Dolorosa, Church of the Holy Sepulcher, and the Garden Tomb. After lunch, visit Ein Karem, the birthplace of St. John the Baptist & the Church of the Visitation. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.
Day Ten - Mount of Olives/Mount Zion
Drive to the Mount of Olives to visit the Chapel of Ascension and Church of the Pater Noster. Walk the Palm Sunday path to the Church of Gethsemane to visit. After lunch, visit the Last Supper room known as the Cenacle, Dormition Abby, and St. Peter in Gallicantu. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.
Day Eleven - Petra, Jordan Extension
Jerusalem, Allenby Bridge, Jordan, Mt. Nebo, Bethany Beyond The Jordan, Madaba, Machaerus, Petra
This morning we will depart Israel for Jordan via the Allenby Bridge where we will meet our agent to assist us through security and customs. We will then travel to Mt. Nebo to view the Holy Land from where Moses stood (Deuteronomy 34:1), a breathtaking view across the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea to the Mt. of Olives and the rooftops of Jerusalem. We will continue to Bethany Beyond the Jordan where John the Baptist traditionally is thought to have baptized Jesus. We will then head to Madaba, the city of mosaics, to see the wonderfully vivid 6th-century Byzantine mosaic map of the Holy Land in the contemporary Greek Orthodox church of St. George. If time permits we will also survey the Machaerus, the ruins of Herod’s fortress where John the Baptist was beheaded. Afterward, we will head south to Petra, the “Rose Red City” for dinner and overnight.
Day Twelve - Petra, Amman
After breakfast, we will visit the site of Petra, a 2000-year-old Nabatean (ancient Arab) city that was highlighted in the movie “Indian Jones and the Last Crusade”. We will walk through the narrow passageway (called the “Siq”) up to the Treasury, a massive royal tomb carved out of the solid rock. If time permits, we will visit the traditional Tomb of Aaron (Moses’ brother), along with Little Petra before returning to Amman. Dinner and overnight will be in Amman.
Day Thirteen - Amman, Jerash, Allenby Bridge, Tel Aviv
This morning we will travel north to the Zarqa River, the Biblical Jabbok River where Jacob wrestled with God. We will then explore Jerash, one of the world’s best-preserved examples of a Roman provincial city thought to have a population of 20,000 people. It was one of the wealthiest cities of the Roman Empire. After lunch, we will then head back to the Allenby Bridge and return to Israel. If time permits, we will visit Yad Hashmona, a Messianic Jewish community, before heading back to Jaffa for dinner. We will then transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for our late evening flight home.
Day Fourteen - Arrive
We will arrive back in the USA on the same day.
